Hi Learners!! Kali ini kita akan bahasa tentang Penggunaan Kata Crazy . Sebagai kata sifat sebenarnya, Crazy berarti Gila. Namun, artinya bisa berbeda tergantung dengan konteks penggunaannya. Jadi, Crazy tidak hanya bisa diartikan sebagai gila karena kehilangan akal pikiran, namun crazy juga bisa diartikan sebagai suatu ungkapan atas kelakuan yang mungkin tidak masuk akal bagi sebagian besar orang seperti menangis histeris hanya karena suatu hal kecil.
Crazy juga bisa berarti ungkapan perasaan frustrasi seseorang akan sesuatu, dalam beberapa kasus juga diartikan sebagai “murka”. Contoh: I’ll go off the deep end if I get fired because of someone else’s mistake.
Lose it
Contoh: Eddie is losing it! Last night he went to his restaurant and asked everyone to leave when they were enjoying their food!
Out of one’s mind
Contoh: You think that jumping out of a bridge is fun? Are you out of your mind?
Not in the right mind
Contoh: Larry was not in his right mind when he sang Adele’s All I Ask at Edith’s wedding.
Away with the fairies
Contoh: It’s no use trying to explain the problem to her – she’s away with the fairies!
A screw loose
Contoh: She talks to herself all the time- She must has a screw loose!
Blow up
Contoh: Annie will surely blow up once she saw the mess her sister made to her bedroom.
Hit the roof
Contoh: My parents will surely hit the roof if they know I have stolen some money.
